Meet Agnes and Sherman

Growing up was always a mashup of cultures. From Chinese wedding banquets to Giants games, Sunday dim sum to House of Prime Rib, Kumon to little league, all of these things existed simultaneously and in harmony with each other. As I got older, I started to realize that this diversity of experience was foreign to many people but relatable to many more. So when it came time for me to open up my own spot, I wanted to try and distill those memories into an experience where I could invite others to connect. I named this restaurant after my parents because if all I want to do is tell my story, then that story is ultimately about them.

Today, I signed a lease for a 3,750 sq ft restaurant as the Co-Owner and Managing Partner of Agnes and Sherman, a modern Asian American diner located in the heart of Houston, Texas. We’re on a mission to deliver a nostalgic, whimsical, and inclusive dining experience through the lens of Asian American food; and by doing so, expand the definition of American culture.
